The Military Member's Freedom

It is the military, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the military, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the military, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the military, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

And, it is the military member who salutes the flag, serves under the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag all too often, and because of their dedication and service allows the protestor to burn the flag.

As we head into the 4th of July holiday there isn't a vet or current member of the military out there who can't pause for just a moment and reflect on those who came before him or her and who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country...
