K-9 INITIATIONS AT CLARK

When a handler was new, departing, sewing on a stripe or some such we had a tradition where we would wait until after the conclusion of a shift, then set upon the handler, chase him down and do one of three or four things. He could be thrown in the camdip, the solution we dipped the dogs in to kill tics or handcuff him to a fence and hose him down or throw other such items on him. Nobody was ever injured and this is what happened the three following pictures.

Photo set courtesy of Bill Louk ("C" Flight handler)

In the first picture the victim is a guy named Laksbergs. The handler to left with his back to the camera is Bob Bendus.

In the second picture, on top of the fence putting the coconut hat on Laksbergs is Andy Zangle. Holding the Ajax is Bill Olinger (Oley).

In the third picture the handler in the rear with cammies is Bob Bendus. To the left with the glasses is John Grammer. They watch as Laksbergs gets himself back together.
