"OLD DAWGS NOW"
Depending on your
perspective, time has or hasn't been good to us. Below are a few photos of
some us now. In all of our splendor and glory.

In the top row from left to
right:
1. Marc Hodgdon (Hodge)
left, wearing the baseball cap, and Ray (Cheech) Sanchez. Taken at my house
in June of 1998. I am now retired from the Air Force and working as a
Systems Engineer at the Pentagon. Cheech is working for the U.S. Border
Patrol in Salt Lake City Utah and helped provide security at the recent
Olympics. He was also assigned to New York after the terrorist attacks and
worked in a security function there.
2. Bill Louk, taken with
his current dog Blackie, named after his MWD at Clark. Bill now works for
the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in upstate N.Y.
3. Marty Jones. In addition
to being a handler, Marty was also a training NCO. Marty is now the
Operations Supervisor for a small township in Cook County Ohio.
4. Bob Lyon, taken with his
current Police Dog Baron. Bob now works for a small civilian police force.
5. Cathy Moore now. She is
now retired and resides with Monty and their daughter near San Antonio
Texas.
6. In the photo are from
left to right, Monty Moore, Cathy Moore, Marc Hodgdon (Hodge) and Bill Louk.
This photo was taken on April 24th, 1999 at the home of Monty and Cathy
Moore during a mini-reunion of the four former handlers.
In the 2nd row from left to
right:
1. Dan Weaver and wife
Sandy. Believe it or not, Dan just finished defending this great nation as
an active duty member of the Air Force with the rank of CMSgt. He is now
retired.
2. John Grammer. John was a
C Flight, Flight chief for a time and is now retired.
3. Romero (Romo), Deb
(Lambert) Garza and family. They are now stationed in Singapore working for
the US Government.
4. Gordon (Audie) Johnston
and dog Regal (AKA Megaspirit's Ardent Knight). Regal is one of two Belgian
Shepherds in New Mexico. In this photo he had just won best of breed at the
dog show in Santa Fe. Gordon has officially dropped out of the rat race
after 21 years in the corporate world and owns his own landscaping business
in the wild west of Taos NM.
5. Steve Myers &
family, Labor Day 1997. Steve retired in 1995 after 21 1/2 years and is now
a letter carrier in Phoenix. Front L-R Owen(son) Steve(son in Law)
Jessica(dau) Linda(wife) Sharon(dau). Back L-R Trina(dau in law)Aaron(son)
and Steve.
6. Ed Green. Retiring
recently from the California Army National Guard, Ed is now lost in the
depths of Los Angeles. However, the house in the photo isn't Ed's. The view
is way too expensive for him to afford. The plastic creature next to him is
a model of a robot from a Scifi movie of the 1920s! Although not currently
working in the film industry, Ed did indeed make several movies since most
of you last saw him. None of them ever made it into general distribution or
even video release. Rumors that this was due to Ed's acting talent haven't
been confirmed
In the 3rd row from left to
right:
1. Bill Anderson with his
assigned MWD at home now, Dusty. Bill was a dog handler in the PI from 1969
through 1970. One of the guys we looked up to.
1. Eddie Fipps. This
picture was taken in late Feburary of 2002, while working on the island of
St. Croix at the Hovenza Refinery. He is a crane operator for Chicago Bridge
& Iron out of Houston, Texas and is currently living in Fredericksburg
Texas.
